The WorldManna.org Pledge:
I pledge to join WorldManna.org with people of
all faiths to help hungry people throughout the world. I will purchase
food items whenever possible that carry the WorldManna.org logo,
indicating that 1% of the proceeds of that food product will be donated by
the manufacturer to prevent world hunger.I have indicated how much my
household spends on groceries so that, WorldManna.org. has the purchasing
power to convince food manufacturers to contribute.

Aren't there lots of groups working
on hunger issues?
Yes. The mission of WorldManna.org is to raise money and
awareness for existing groups each time a consumer picks up a food item.
Money will be distributed to those organizations using best practices
to alleviate and eradicate hunger (see #1.)We are inviting all anti hunger
organizations and faith communities to partner
with us by encouraging their members to sign the WorldManna.org pledge.
How is this different from the money I give
to my local food bank?
WorldManna.org only receive funds donated from the food
industry. Concerned individuals should continue to give money to local
hunger relief agencies. The hunger problem is not one that will be solved
quickly. Your continuous support will always be appreciated.
What does MANNA mean?
In the Bible (Exodus 16: 4-35), the Israelites, newly
freed from slavery, nourished themselves in the desert with manna, sweet
food that appeared on the ground each morning.
Where did the idea of WorldManna.org
come from?
Several years ago JFL CEO Yosef (Yossi) Abramowitz and
his daughters Aliza and Hallel were shopping in a supermarket and needed
some spaghetti sauce. One daughter said, "Get the one with the man's face
on it." When asked to explain, she replied, "Because he gives all the
money from the sauce to charity." They also noticed the small symbol on
the package indicating the package was kosher. The other daughter then
asked, "Could there be a sign on food, just like the kosher symbol, telling
people which food companies give money to feed hungry people?" From that
brief exchange an idea was born: WorldManna.org.
